Bio of Katheryne Marie Ray

Katheryne Marie Ray (District Missionary Katheryne Ray), was born on December 16, to the late Obra and Irene Barrow; in Duck Hill, Mississippi.  She is the 15th of 16 children and holds the rank of being the youngest daughter. Katheryne came to know Jesus at an early age and was baptized at Mount Pleasant M.B. Church (Duck Hill, MS) at nine years of old.

Katheryne graduated from Duck Hill High School and Holmes Junior College in Goodman, Mississippi. She completing studies and received an Associate Degree in Elementary Education. Upon completing college, she relocated to Minnesota where she chartered a “fresh” start.  Katheryne obtained her initial CDA (Child Development) credential; a credential that’s allowed her to work in childcare for more than 30 years.

It was because of the tireless love, dedication and compassion she witnessed through both her late parents, that she chose to pursue a career in education.  Katheryne has found that she can express the love planted within herself, into the lives she’s touch in the classrooms. Katheryne is a phenominal instruction and lays the foundation of the word into each child that she comes into contact with, with joy and adoration for the word of God.

Katheryne was bless with 3 children; Eric, Jeffrey, Camilla and one grandchild, Jada. Because of the church upbringing, and Katheryne’s love for the good Lord above, He saw fit to allow her husband to “find her” in 2004.  She is  blessed to call Administrator Assistant Superintendent Moses Ray, her Pastor, husband and friend.  Superintendent Ray is the founder and Pastor of Holy Hill C.O.G.I.C. located in Atlanta, Georgia as well as the Pastor of Gordon C.O.G.I.C. in Gordon, Georgia.  He is also the founder and Superintendent of the Hope District in Atlanta, GA, where Katheryne serve as the District Missionary.  She is also currently the Jurisdictional President of the Purity Band in Macon, Georgia and the Executive Administrator Assistant the Women Department of Southern Georgia Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, under the leadership of the Supervisor of Women, Dr. Barbara A. Smith. In addition she is the President of the youth department at both of her local churches and also provides spiritual guidance for married couples.  She holds certificates from C. H. Mason Jurisdictional Institute, taught by Dr. Dannetta Sparks Lamb.

As grace and mercy follows Katheryne Ray, she aspires to continue to impact the lives of the youth through her profession and passion in both the classroom and the community. She understands the children are our future and it is important to train them up in the way they should go, and when they are old they will not depart from it.
