Biography: District Missionary Veronica Jackson
Macon District
Missionary Veronica Jackson was born in Augusta, Georgia to the late Lee W. Houston and Willie Mae Houston. She is the second of four children. She began her Christian journey at the age of thirteen. She was introduced to Christ by her uncle, the late Deacon S T. Lott and Mother Estelle Lott. She began her Christian walk at the Friendly Church of God in Christ in Augusta Georgia under the leader of the late Superintendent Cleveland Wood and Mother Mary Wood.
Her next transition in life took her to New Jerusalem C.O.G.I.C. in Millen, Georgia under the leadership of the late Elder Theo Jackson and Elect Lady Elvera Jackson. Missionary Jackson was a member for approximately fourteen years. She served as a Sunday School teacher and as the Pastor’s Aide President.
Presently, she is a member of the Zion Hope C.O.G.I.C. She currently serves as a Sunday School and Prayer and Bible Band teacher. She served as the District Missionary of the DayStar District for approximately four years. She is currently the District Missionary of the Historical Macon District. She is a dedicated church member who strongly believes in the principles of holiness.
Missionary Jackson graduated from North Augusta High School in North Augusta South Carolina. She graduated as an honor graduate in the top five percent of her class. She was awarded Who’s Who Among American High School Students. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades from Mercer University. She also received a Masters degree from Fort Valley State University. Later, she received a Specialist Degree in Middle Grades Education from Troy State University. She worked as an educator and retired from the Laurens County Board of Education in Dublin, Georgia.
Missionary Jackson has achieved several accomplishments in her career. She received notoriety for Outstanding Work in Teacher Preparation from Mercer University. She was also voted Teacher of the Year by her colleagues at West Laurens Middle School. She has also received several awards for raising money for St. Jude’s Hospital Cancer Research. She believes that all things are possible to those who believe.
